Hello friends,
For the very first time in my life, I spent Christmas alone. Growing up, my family never really gathered for Christmas because my dad’s birthday is on January 1st. Instead of having two celebrations, we’d combine everything into one big New Year’s celebration. But spending Christmas alone in 2024? That definitely wasn’t on my bucket list this year.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. I spent the day in bed, watching Christmas movies, playing games, and honestly, I didn’t even shower. Later, I ordered in because I was too tired to cook or eat earlier. I wasn’t sad or lonely, though. Deep down, I felt like this might be the only Christmas I’ll spend alone in a while—and that next year’s Christmas might be way louder than I’d like. But you know what? Bring it on—I’m ready!
Oh, and one more thing! I’ve started a new TikTok account (yes, I know it’s my fifth one!). It would be lovely if you could follow me there. On another note, I had been thinking about combining my two TikTok accounts into one, but I quickly realised they’ll never mix. My social media management content will always have its own space as my business page on Thesocialmediaoga, while Bolaji Billions will remain my personal lifestyle account. With this personal account, I’m hoping to grow as a skincare creator while also sharing my Jesus Baby content.
Speaking of goals, I recently posted about creating my physical vision board, and let me tell you—it wasn’t easy! It was my first time, so it took a while to get the hang of it. But now it’s done and sitting pretty on my wall. Every morning, I lay my hands on it and pray over my goals, dreams, and aspirations. It’s already such a powerful habit, and I encourage you to try it if you haven’t!
Another new habit I’ve started is prayer journaling. I began this last week, and for anyone who’s been wanting to start a prayer journal, I’m here to help! I’ll be creating a detailed YouTube video soon to guide you through sectioning your journal and what to write.
I’ve also started keeping a daily journal where I write letters to God. I know some people struggle with what to write in their daily journals, so I’ve put together some prompts to guide you.
Below are my Week 1 and Week 2 prompts for January:
January: Foundation & New Beginnings
Theme: Laying a solid foundation in Christ for the year ahead.
Week 1: Gratitude and Vision
Day 1: Reflect on God’s faithfulness in 2024. Write a prayer of gratitude and surrender your hopes for 2025.
Day 2: Read Matthew 6:33. How can you prioritize seeking God first this year? Write a practical plan to keep Him at the center.
Day 3: Identify three areas of your life where you need God’s intervention. Write prayers of surrender for each of these areas.
Day 4: Reflect on Philippians 1:6. How does knowing God completes His work in you give you peace for 2025?
Day 5: Write a vision statement for your spiritual growth this year (prayer life, Bible study, fasting, etc.).
Day 6: Reflect on Proverbs 24:3-4. How can you build a strong foundation for your family, friendships, and future this year?
Day 7: Write a prayer inviting God into every area of your life—finances, health, relationships, and work.
Week 2: Spiritual Discipline
Day 8: Read Psalm 119:105. Reflect on how God’s Word has guided you in past seasons of uncertainty.
Day 9: Identify distractions in your relationship with God. Write down practical ways to eliminate these distractions.
Day 10: Choose a new book of the Bible to study. Write about what God is teaching you through the first chapter.
Day 11: Reflect on Mark 1:35. How can you prioritize alone time with God daily, like Jesus did?
Day 12: Write a prayer asking God to rekindle your hunger for His Word and presence.
Day 13: Reflect on your struggles in maintaining spiritual habits. Write about the areas you need God's grace to strengthen your discipline.
Day 14: Spend 15 minutes in worship today. Journal any thoughts, feelings, or verses that come to mind during this time.
Just to clarify: this daily journal is separate from my prayer journal. That’s two journals I’m currently using! If you’re interested, I’d love to hear how journaling is going for you as a Christian.
I’m also preparing to return to Instagram. I’m not dreading it, but I’m grateful for the break I took. Being scrutinised because I have a lot of followers—or because I openly identify as a Jesus Baby Girl can be overwhelming at times.
I’ll share the remaining prompts for January next week, as God inspires me.
As we prepare to step into 2025, I’m already practicing new habits and working on my goals. Have you started working on yours yet? Let’s be intentional together.
Happy New Year in advance, my friends. I truly love writing to you weekly, and I look forward to hearing from you especially about your Christian journaling journey.
That’s all for now!
Still don’t know how to end my letters but see you in the next one.
Thank you
Thank you for the tips, Journaling to me was another way to put down my thoughts and things I have learnt.
The tips are awesome, can't wait to use it.
