Entry #3: Rest, Pushback, and Some Progress
I Took the Week Off—But My Body Had Other Plans
Because the middle of the journey deserves its own spotlight, too.
Hey friend,
This week was supposed to be a soft reset. I intentionally took time off from my part-time job so I could catch up on life, content creation, and everything I’ve been mentally bookmarking for “when I have time.” But instead of feeling refreshed and on top of things, I spent most of the week just trying to survive my period.
The Reality of Rest (When Your Body Has Other Plans)
Monday started strong. I got in 7 hours of focused work and felt hopeful about the rest of the week.
But Tuesday? Everything flipped. The pain was unbearable. I couldn’t sleep, barely ate, and could only manage two hours of light work—if you can even call it that. Still, I didn’t pause. I pushed through.
Meetings.
Event planning.
More meetings.
Trying to pull together my first-ever live event—one I’ve been dreaming about for months—only to face roadblock after roadblock. It’s starting to feel like I might need to go back to square one. I haven’t even started publicity yet. And I already feel behind.
On the Job Front: A Hard Pause
Truthfully? I didn’t apply for any roles this week.
It stings watching others secure full-time jobs, especially when you know you’re skilled, consistent, and showing up. But I had a heart-to-heart with my flatmate, and something she said stuck with me:
“If you take a full-time job that’s not content or marketing-related, you won’t have the bandwidth to pursue what you actually love.”
And she’s right. This is my path. I may not be where I want to be yet, but at least I’m on the right road.
It helps that the people around me see that, too. I’m not just dreaming—I’m actively building even when it’s slow, even when it’s hard.

Entry #2: I’m Choosing Purpose Over Pressure
This past week reminded me that the “in-between” can be both a gift and a test. It’s that space where you’re holding it all—the dreams, the deadlines, the doubt—and still showing up, trying to give your best while figuring out what “balance” even means.
This Week’s Wins (Because They Matter Too)
Even in the middle of exhaustion, I got some things done:
✅ Edited 5 Reels
✅ Sent 3 YouTube videos to my editor
✅ Filmed four YouTube videos
✅ Prepped content ahead of my travel plans
✅ Started work on a new brand collaboration
✅ Lined up brands I plan to pitch to next week
✅ Reorganised my phone screen and started using my reminders app
The to-do list wasn’t empty. I just had to move differently.
Saturday Stillness
As I write this, it’s Saturday. I’m in bed, drained—physically, emotionally, and mentally. All I want to do is stay under my duvet until it’s time to go hang out with Crystal later this evening. Work can wait until tomorrow.
Because even in a season where I feel like I have to constantly prove something—to myself, to potential clients, to God—I’m learning that rest is not rebellion. It’s not laziness. It’s permission.
And I’m giving myself that permission today.
To You, Reading This
If your week didn’t go as planned…
If you’re tired, feeling stuck, or wondering if this “middle” season is ever going to end…
I want to remind you:
You’re not alone. You’re not late. You’re not failing.
Sometimes, surviving is the win. Other times, it’s doing one small thing that keeps your dream alive.
We’re not rushing. We’re rebuilding.
Let’s keep going.
